DECLARATIONS of the Young Zionists (YZ)

1. Israel’s importance to America. We, the Young Zionists (YZ), recognize the importance of Israel to America, as an economic partner, as a strategic ally, as a western-style democracy, and as a center of biblical heritage and religious freedom.

2. Israel’s right to defend herself. We recognize Israel’s right to defend herself from her enemies with any means she deems necessary, including with the use of high-powered sophisticated weaponry. If Israel is attacked, she needs to attack back with overwhelming force, even if it means that those she is fighting suffer far greater casualties than she does.

3. No negotiations with terrorists or those who harbor terrorists. We are very much in favor of peace negotiations between Israel and her neighbors, including the Palestinians. However, Israel must not enter into any type of negotiations – peace or otherwise – with terrorist organizations, such as Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Hezbollah and Fatah, or states which willingly harbor terrorists, such as Syria and Iran.

4. No Palestinian terrorist state. We do not believe that the Palestinians, the majority of which deny the legitimacy of Israel and support terrorist organizations, such as Hamas and Fatah, should be rewarded for their violent behavior with statehood. Both Hamas and Fatah (PLO) have charters which call for the destruction of Israel. As long as terrorist organizations exist within Gaza and the West Bank, the creation of a Palestinian state should not even be an issue.

5. Expansion of settlements. We do not believe that anyone has the right to tell Israel to stop the expansion of its country’s housing facilities. The so-called “Jewish settlements” are a vibrant part of Israel and need to continue to grow unabated. Israel should ignore calls to halt its nation’s expansion, from the United States or anywhere else.

6. An undivided Jerusalem. We believe that Israel should never relinquish any part of Jerusalem for any reason. To give up on the smallest part of Jerusalem would be to deny Israel’s reason for existence. Jerusalem must never be made a part of any type of “peace” deal.

7. Military action against Iran. We feel that the use of sanctions against Iran will not stop Iran from building nuclear weapons, but will instead give the terrorist state time to engage in the building process. We therefore deem it necessary for America and/or Israel to use the last resort measure of military force to halt Iran’s nuclear program.

8. U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. We believe that the United States should immediately move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and transfer the American embassy there.

9. No prisoner release. We believe that Israel should never release prisoners with blood on their hands from Israel’s prisons, in order to satisfy any kind of “peace” deal. This includes Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti, who was heavily involved in a number of terrorist attacks. You do not get peace by releasing murderers into the populace.

10. U.S. end diplomacy with Iran. We do not believe that the United States should be conducting diplomatic talks with Iran, a country which regularly chants “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.” Terrorist states, such as Iran and Syria, need to be dealt with harshly. Diplomatic talks with such nations can only be seen as projecting weakness.

11. U.S. end diplomacy with Abbas. Mahmoud Abbas (a.k.a. Abu Mazen) is the leader of the Fatah terror group, whose militant wing the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade (Kataib Shuhada Al-Aqsa) is on the U.S. State Department list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). It is believed that Abbas financed the Munich Massacre, which resulted in the deaths of eleven Israeli athletes. The United States government should not be conducting diplomatic talks with terrorists.

12. Name Fatah as “terrorist organization.” We call on the United States Department of State to include the Palestinian Fatah on its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). Fatah’s involvement in terrorist activities aimed at Israelis is a constant. While Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade has been on the State Department list for many years, the group’s parent organization should not go without its proper designation. Israel refers to Fatah as a terrorist organization, and so should the U.S.

13. Golan is a security measure. We do not believe that the Golan Heights should ever be relinquished to Syria. Syria is a terrorist harboring nation, and the Golan is physically shaped as such that it is of immense strategic value for Israel's military and provides protection for all of Israel's citizens.

14. No land for peace. We do not believe that any land – not one inch of land – should be traded for what some refer to as “peace.” The Gaza handover to Hamas, in September 2005, should serve as a reminder to all who mistakenly believe that peace can be obtained by giving in to the demands of terrorists.

15. Shut down PLO Mission. The Anti-Terrorism Act of 1987 provides that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is a “terrorist organization” and is illegal in the United States. Every six months, starting with President Bill Clinton, the U.S. President has signed a waiver to circumvent this law, allowing for a PLO Mission to be housed less than two miles from the White House. This is an abuse of executive privilege and a direct threat to the United States. The President needs to enforce the Anti-Terrorism Act, not issue any further waivers against it, and shut down the PLO Mission and any other PLO apparatus residing in America.

16. Resume bulldozing houses. We are in favor of Israel’s practice of bulldozing the houses of suicide bombers. The families of suicide bombers are normally aware of their relative’s actions, as families are promised money for the terrorist act. The bulldozing of houses is a necessary punishment for the act.

17. Continue targeted assassinations. We are in favor of Israel’s practice of targeted assassinations, such as those that have been carried out against former Hamas leaders Ahmed Yassin and Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi. Hamas leaders Khaled Mashaal and Mousa Abu Marzook, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader Ramadan Shallah, and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah should not be able to cause further bloodshed.

18. Praying at the Temple Mount. We call on Israel to allow its citizens to enter and pray at the Temple Mount, considered the holiest site in Judaism. Jews, Christians and others should be given access to all biblical holy sites -- by military force, if necessary.

19. Expose Palestinian bigotry. While Israel has established a homeland with diverse cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities and religions, an overwhelming percentage of Palestinians, including their leaders, wish to create a state free of Jews – what has been termed a “Judenrein Palestine.” We call on Israel to expose this fact, and we call on the United States to recognize this for what it is, a clear-cut case of bigotry.

20. No bullying of Israel. We believe that Israel should not allow herself to be bullied by anyone, including the U.S. and Europe, into making concessions with its sworn enemies. Israel will not be punished for saying “No.” As Prime Minister Ariel Sharon once told the Bush Administration, Israel is not Czechoslovakia.
